Joe Murphy has more than fifteen years experience as a trial attorney in Smith County. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in political science from Texas A&M University in 1998 and received a doctorate in jurisprudence in 2001 from the University of Tulsa - School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Law Review. He began his legal career interning at the Smith County District Attorney’s Office for two years before earning his law degree. After receiving his certification from the State Bar of Texas, he worked as an assistant district attorney in Smith County for nine and one-half years, prosecuting over 200 jury trials.
